When oral medications for erectile dysfunction (ED) fail to produce satisfactory results, vacuum erection devices (VEDs) and penile injections represent valuable next-step treatment options. VEDs offer a non-invasive approach by creating a vacuum around the penis, drawing blood into the erectile tissues to facilitate an erection. This method can be particularly beneficial for individuals who cannot tolerate oral medications or seek an alternative treatment modality. On the other hand, penile injections involve the direct injection of vasodilators into the side of the penis, inducing an erection by relaxing smooth muscle and increasing blood flow. While somewhat more invasive, penile injections can be highly effective, especially for individuals who do not respond well to oral medications or VEDs. Both VEDs and penile injections offer versatility and flexibility in ED treatment, providing viable options for individuals seeking alternative solutions to their erectile difficulties.

Medication therapy is extremely effective in augmenting the quality of man’s erection such that he is able to have satisfactory intercourse. Medications such as Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, work in 65% of men suffering from erectile dysfunction. However, studies have shown that fewer then 50% of men respond to oral medicines. Also, fewer than 35% of men recovering from prostate surgery respond to oral medications.

Self-injection
.
With this method, you use a fine needle to inject medication into the side of your penis. Medication examples include papaverine, alprostadil and phentolamine. Often these combination medications are known as bimix (if two medications are included) or trimix (if three are included). Injections are proven to be effective over 95% of the time.

Simply inject 10 minutes prior to sexual activity. Training is provided to ensure safety and success.  trimix.jpg

Vacuum Erection Device. A FDA medical grade penis pump (vacuum erection device) is a hollow tube with a hand-powered or battery-powered pump. The tube is placed over your penis, and then the pump is used to suck out the air inside the tube. This creates a vacuum that pulls blood into your penis. Once you get an erection, you slip a tension ring around the base of your penis to hold in the blood and keep it firm. You then remove the vacuum device. The VED is over 95% effective and can be used with other methods of treatment.   Reach Medical, Inc. was awarded the exclusive dealer for the most advanced vacuum therapy devices in the US based on the company's educational services and length of time in business.
